Hubby, dog and I spent 33 days going through 17 states this summer. We had two campgrounds that stood out for us, both Passport America members. One was Sleeping Ute in Towaoc, Colorado! For some the fact that it is next to their casino might be a draw back, but since you don't see or hear it, I see no drawback. What I did find was huge, spotless showers that were gorgeous, green grass everywhere, and great view of the beautiful cliffs and mountains. This place is also within a day's commute from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and situated in the corner of Colorado that is farmland and oh-so-pretty! We will come back!

I have stayed at this park many times on my way north or south for periods from one week to one month. It is a peaceful place away from the noise and traffic of may parks in the area. With views of The Sleeping Ute and Mesa Verde and surrounded by hay fields, it is idyllic. Casino security and indoor swimming pool make it a rare, perfect spot for adult RVers.
