This is our second visit to this campground. Both times have been wonderful. It is peaceful, clean and beautiful park setting. Staff is friendly and very helpful, brought us a picnic table. We will be back.
Biggest dog park I ever saw! Sites are generous. A few trees would make it perfect. Loved Pilot mountain hiking.
One of my favorite places to stay. Gorgeous campground with beautiful sites. Very close to town. I’ve stayed here twice and I can’t wait to go back!
One of the best campgrounds I’ve ever been to. Immaculately clean and friendly staff! We can’t wait to visit again!
One of my favorite campgrounds and so glad we found it. Spent a week in August of 2020 and really enjoyed how well designed and well maintained Mayberry is. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Easy access to the sites and spacing of the sites very impressive! I enjoyed long morning walks through the campground and surrounding area. We loved Mt. Airy and all the Andy Griffith/Mayberry fun. We plan on returning in the near future.
Our 4th stay coming up with Mayberry. We travel up and down the east coast, and always try to stay there. Nice folks and a very clean and nice campground. Hopefully, one day we can spend more time there.
Mayberry is our "go to" close to home CG. The staff are extremely nice and helpful. The grounds are outstanding and well maintained. The sites are well spaced and the CG is quiet. This is not the CG with tons of amenities and that's what we like about it. We don't go camping for amenities, we like to relax and enjoy the outdoors with like-minded people and Mayberry gives us that!
Nice place to stay! Good location. Sites are spacious and level. Good gravel roads all around. Utilities work well. Good cable package. Wifi can be spotty but works well at times. Nice areas to walk around. There is freeway noise, but inside my rig it wasn't too bad. I appreciate that this place was open during the pandemic. A very needed respite during tough times.
We spent a few days here in 2017. It was fantastic. Our level paved site was right on the lake. Bathhouses were fantastic. The town of Mayberry, near by was wonderful. The people were friendly. Lots of areas to walk our Dachshunds.
My wife and I decided to travel north from our winter home. BUT we did not realize it was a Holiday weekend. Everywhere we called they were BOOKED. We have stayed here before. We called and they were VERY nice. Told us to come on in they would MAKE room for us. THANK YOU SO MUCH. After a REAL long day on the road it was nice to see the smiling faces at the campground. Will make it a POINT to come back!!!!
Very pleasant. Friendly people, very clean and neat. Will definitely make a return visit.
My husband and I have camped at Mayberry Campground in Mount Airy, NC several times. We always look forward to a return visit. The owners are very friendly and it is like spending time with family. The campground is clean, bathrooms and showers are clean and the owners and staff strive to do everything possible to make your stay a pleasant one. The campground is located near Mount Airy, the town where Andy Griffith grew up, and has lots of "Mayberry" history to enjoy. It is located at the foothills of the NC and Virginia mountains and near the Blueridge Parkway. Beautiful views of the mountains from all sides of the campground. I highly recommend this campground.
