Large ranch. Typical West Texas terrain-sparse and lovely. Pretty drive to Prude Ranch. Basically a place to park and eat and sleep. Parking pads were not level (which we knew about) and somewhat rocky. Pads were small but adequate. No picnic tables or fire rings. It was quiet. Our only negative the availability of the management. Difficult to reach management when necessary. No eating facilities on the premises, but that was okay with us as we like to grill out.
This is a retreat and a real treat. Very quiet location up in the mountains. Peaceful. Crisp air. Super friendly ranch dogs to greet you. I came in the winter and stayed in the back RV area which is on more of a slope than the front, but is also quieter. Price is great. Utilities work fine. Wifi fast enough to stream low res. No cable but that's kind of the point. Get away from tech and do all of the wonderful activities here: Archery, rifle shooting, horseback rides, obstacle course and the list goes on. Definitely worth the visit.
We stayed there for 2 nights, with a 32' RV. Very quiet and convenient location. Close to the McDonald Observatory and Fort Davis. Saw deer grazing in the field and 2 foxes come out at dusk. Also, star gazing couldn't have been better. Facilities are dated and we didn't use them. Good for a quick stay. Good price.
