We spent one night in Lutherwood Campground but noted it as an excellent location for future stays. It was well worth driving the 2 miles of gravel road (which was in good condition) to get there. The hosts were very pleasant, helpful, knowledgeable. The facilities were modern and clean. Quiet location, surrounded by mother nature - deer in the campground. Highly recommended :-)
We camped with a Lutheran group from Pahrump NV and had an absolutely great time. The hosts, Cliff and Gloria were outstanding...I'd rate than as 5 star! Cliff was painting the main building when we arrived and all the time we were there he was working on improvements. Dennis, the maintenance man was busy keeping pastured cows out of the park, repairing the fences and mowing/watering and fixing equipment. Note that it does seem like more than 2 miles from the main road, but it is easy to get caught up in the scenery along the way. The sigeage has been improved and there is no doubt about which fork to take in the road. We had such a wonderful experience we've already put in our reservations for next year.
This campground was a pleasant surprise, even though I had my doubts going in. First, I "knew" where it was but still missed the turn! Bad signage off the road. Gravel road in good condition for 2 miles but it seemed like 5 miles! Hilly, hard to see signage. But, campground was pretty, remote, quiet and had very good facilities! Sites on grass/gravel, level. Park clean, convenient and everything in good repair. Operated by camp hosts. Pics posted here.
We spent 2 nights in Lutherwood Campground, and it was well worth the 2 mile graveled road to get there. The host, Dennis, was helpful, knowledgeable, and very accommodating.
